Creative Academy Student Wins National Design Competition
We are delighted to celebrate the success of one of our talented students, a proud member of the new Overton Grange Creative Academy, whose creativity has been recognised on a national stage.
During a session at the local carers centre, our student, Miles Jordon, heard about a national competition to design a T-shirt for young carers attending this year’s Carers Festival. Inspired by the theme of Connecting Young Carers, he put pen to paper and submitted his design to a panel of judges alongside entries from across the country.
A few months later, he received the fantastic news that his design had been chosen as the winning entry. Not only did his artwork become the official T-shirt for the festival—worn by hundreds of young carers—but he was also invited to attend the festival in Southampton, along with a friend from the carers centre, to enjoy a weekend of fun activities and celebration.
Seeing so many people proudly wearing his design was a moment to remember. On the second day of the festival, he was honoured with a special prize: a 100-piece art kit to support his future creative work, and additional T-shirts for other young carers at the centre.
We are incredibly proud of this achievement, which showcases the talent and dedication at the heart of our students and our new Creative Academy. We can’t wait to see what he creates next.
